Jellyfish Hopping
for the Lucky Number 8 show
Jellyfish Hopping is a seven-foot tall printed piece that is inspired by a whimsical, free-flowing feeling of exploration. I painted it at a time of tumultuous change in my personal life, having just ended a relationship. Amidst the chaos, I found a sense of therapeutic solace in painting this piece: of a character simply observing the changes in her life streaming by, lost in the flow.

This piece was created for the Lucky Number 8 art show in 2018. With gratitude to Adobe Drawing for sponsoring the print of this piece.
Lucky Number 8 was an art show held on August 18, 2018, in the Mission District of San Francisco. It was organized in collaboration with fellow artists Amy Wibowo, Helen Tseng, and katie zhu. Each artist created two projects each, contributing to a total of 8 projects — and coupled with the most auspicious date of the show (08/18/18), is why we named the show ”Lucky Number 8.
